Mukhyamantri Nari Shakti Yojana:-The programme was launched in 2007-08 throughout the state with an objective to empower women and make them self reliant. The programme envisages holistic empowerment of women in the economic, social and cultural spheres. This commences a long journey to improve women’s economic and social status. It also underlines several activities aimed to address issues that have been looked upon as constraints impeding women’s quest for greater economic and social empowerment. Such as:

Limited institutional capacity of stakeholders to address and include needs of women

Lack of skills and resources

Inadequate access to protective and support services



Objectives

Creating sustainable self owned & managed women based institutions through capacity building & microfinance inputs.

Facilitating need based sustainable livelihood efforts.

Developing the capacity of stakeholders with a strong focus on generating awareness in the community on women related issues thereby creating an enabling environment.

Providing institutional support to women in need & distress.
