State Resource Centre for  Women:-

The Government of Bihar has established the State Resource Centre for Women under Women Development Corporation, Bihar. The State Resource Centre For Women (SRCW) has been constituted under the National Mission for Empowerment of Women 2009-2015.

 1. Poorna Shakti Kendra:

Poorna Shakti Kendra Model is a pilot to implement National Mission For Empowerment of Women in the states. It works as a focal point of actions through which the services to women at grass root level would be facilitated. These centres are providing a platform for women to address their issues as well as to act as an interface for women to approach the government for availing their entitlements. This Poorna Shakti Kendra will provide information on all the government programmes/schemes/services for women, maintaining database of target population, create awareness generation on legal rights and entitlements. PSK has become functional in the Aurangabad and Nalanda districts and it is under process of establishment in Begusarai districts.

 2. One Stop Centre Scheme: 

One Stop Centre is to be established to provide a range of services under one roof to women affected by violence. These services include medical assistance, transportation, and facilitation in dealing with police, legal aid, psychosocial counseling and temporary shelter, if needed.

As per the guidelines of the Ministry of Women and Child Development location for establishing OSC was to be identified. The location for establishing OSC is supposed to be within a hospital/ medical facility campus or within 2km radius of a hospital. The area required for establishing OSC is about 132sqmt carpet area in a existing government building or 300 sq mt of land within a hospital/ medical facility or within 2km radius of a hospital.

District administration is the implementing agency; space has been identified and likely to start by September’2016.

 

Objective:-

• To provide integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence under one roof.

• To facilitate immediate, emergency and non-emergency access to a range of services including medical, legal, psychological and counselling support to the victims of violence against women under one roof.
